There are some interesting styles in the world of One Piece, and that’s an understatement. From clothing to makeup, to general mojo, the looks exhibited throughout the One Piece anime and manga are more than memorable. One look at cosplay conventions or forums, and you will see a wellspring of creativity inspired by this colorful array of creative choices. The only question now is… who has the best style? More specifically, who are the most stylish One Piece characters to grace the page and screen? Let’s try and rank them.
15. Monkey D. Luffy
Luffy sports blue shorts with folded hems, sandals, and a sleeveless crimson waistcoat. He maintains a consistent attire throughout the majority of the series. However, Luffy occasionally adapts his clothing to match the weather conditions of a particular island, though he invariably reverts to his usual ensemble. The kid may have a rather simple aesthetic, but the simplicity is iconic. So much so that the pirate crew he leads is named after his own hat.
14. Nami
Nami is also usually a unidimensional dresser, but it does slightly change over time. Some examples could be the hair length of accessories. Nonetheless, she always carries herself knowing her style choices were on point. One of her most iconic outfits is a soft-looking white dress held together by a belt for ammunition. So fans just know she’ll be able to hold her own regardless of the non-traditional clothing choice for a sea voyage.
13. Portgas D. Ace
Ace’s tattoos stood out as some of his most distinctive and iconic characteristics. On his back, he proudly bore the Whitebeard symbol inked into his skin. Initially, Ace donned an open-front shirt, but once he received the Whitebeard tattoo, he abandoned any upper-body coverings, with the exception of cold or arid islands. His attire typically consisted of black boots, knee-length black shorts adorned with eyelets, an orange belt, and a blue pouch fastened to his left leg. It’s not consciously fashionable, but Ace just seems to really pull it off no matter how his setup evolves over time.
12. Admiral Akainu
Sakazuki stands out as one of the most ardent proponents of Absolute Justice in the entire series, so much so that his extreme beliefs led his fellow admiral, Aokiji, to resist his promotion. This unwavering dedication to his principles is reflected in his wardrobe. Typically, he dons the standard Marine cap and wears a crimson double-breasted suit. Notably, this part is decorated with what appears to be a pink rose affixed to his left buttonhole. Underneath the first layer, we have some unconventional choices. He wears a relaxed floral shirt without any formal additions. The contrast is pretty slick.
11. Admiral Kizaru
Kizaru’s style is surprisingly cool for a military leader. His regular arrangement includes a yellow-striped suit with a Marine coat casually hung over his shoulders, leaving his arms free from its sleeves. Additionally, Kizaru sports immaculate white shoes, stylish gold-amber tinted sunglasses, and a dark green shirt accompanied by a mauve tie beneath his vibrant yellow suit. The guy may be attempting to establish justice by any means necessary, but his accessories – like the bling he has all over – tell you he’s ready to party.
10. Kuzan
Kuzan is one of the more chill people on our list. As a marine, he flashed a clean professional look emblematic of an Admiral in his station. As one of the Ten Titanic Captains, he changed his look altogether but he makes it really work. Kuzan looks like an underground renegade or demolition expert. He’s festooned with the garments of a careless rebel, and he’s wearing the kind of shades that help you walk away from a cinematic explosion.
9. Trafalgar D. Law
We just discussed Law in our Ope Ope no Mi analysis. While he isn’t taking the enemy apart in the “ROOM,” our guy is sporting some pretty aesthetically pleasing accouterments. The famous Heart pirate has a pretty iconic has, along with pleasantly casual boating clothes. That said, it isn’t really the clothing that puts him on this list. Fans absolutely love his tribal tattoos. Law’s ink tells a story of honor and great loss. His fashion has a deep meaning in the world of One Piece.
8. Dracule Mihawk
In addition to having the coolest live-action intro, Dracule Mihawk stands above many for his personality. He maintains godly composure on the battlefield, never letting emotions surface even in the face of unexpected events. His pride in his swordsmanship is part of this style as he views any imperfection on his blade as a stain on his honor. This dedication is mirrored in his choice of attire. Mihawk adorns a kogatana around his neck, resembling a golden cross-shaped necklace. His wardrobe features a broad-brimmed black hat adorned with a substantial plume. Sometimes it’s surprising his name isn’t Zoro.
7. Crocodile
The “Desert King” has some of the flashiest garb on the Grand Line, with a fat cigar to accent the entire ensemble. With a flashy coat, gold buttons, and a fine belt, he has the kind of finesse that would make Tonu Soprano Blush. Fans will remember that even when locked deep at Impel Down, Crocodile managed to keep his gold hook.
6. Boa Hancock
Most of you probably aren’t surprised by this pick. Boa Hancock is beautiful in every sense of the word. That said, she also has style. Hancock’s clothing choices undergo regular changes. During the Marineford Summit War, she was seen in a purple dress with Kuja designs, accompanied by purple high-heel pumps. Upon her initial introduction, she sported a revealing red V-neck blouse that presented a generous amount of her chest, complemented by a flowing sarong bearing the green emblem of the Kuja and a white cape embellished with epaulets. Following the time skip, her attire closely resembles her initial appearance, now in shades of blue. It’s a decent choice. It suits her well.
5. Nico Robin
Nico Robin is an obvious follow-up to Hancock for a variety of reasons. Her default is somewhat like what can be seen on Nami, but there are plenty of occasions when the fashion shined through. A fan favorite is her casino dress which is accessorized with blue feathers and yellow shades. All in all, the Devil Child has been known to wear outfits perfectly and present herself in a manner deserving of the Number 5 slot.
4. Sanji
Sanji is a pretty stylish character, and everything he wears shows fans his exquisite taste. Not only that but he carries it really well. Sanji typically dons a black double-breasted suit adorned with gleaming golden buttons like Crocodiles, paired with a long-sleeved button-up shirt in a range of colors, commonly opting for shades like orange, blue, turquoise, or black, occasionally featuring pinstripes. Sanji’s setup undergoes more frequent alterations as well. Although simple, his temperament and costume pair together like wine and cheese.
3. Brook
Personally, this probably has to do with being partial to groovy looks. We get it, Brook is a stack of bones, but he possesses so much soul that he’s now unable to die. Add to the fact that our skeleton man is a skilled musician, and this almost makes him a competitor for Number One! Not to mention that the GIF of him smoking is so flashy that it’s become a meme. Yep. This earns him third place.
2. Denjiro
Surprised? We’re not. This guy is far from being Mr. Popular, but he’s definitely earned this second-place title. Prior to Oden’s execution, he repped a dark blue hairstyle that cascaded in a lengthy ponytail. During his youth, he favored a dark kimono adorned with a four-leaf clover pattern as his attire of choice. What really stood out was that one time he wore a ceremonial pompadour to the Flower Capital. There was something about the presentation that was just spot on.
1. Doflamingo
Finally, it may not come as a surprise to most that Doflamingo takes the top of this list. Sure, he killed family members for disappointing him. Everyone remembers how he turned everyone in power into a literal puppet in Dressrosa. And he is completely unhinged, BUT you cannot deny that Doflamingo is a man of style. Whether he inherited this sense of class from nobility or not, his feathered robes are iconic. Even those unfamiliar with the anime and manga can pick him out of a lineup. Now that’s style.
