Whenever money is discussed in One Piece, it is primarily discussed in the realm of the bounties that the characters have on them. Most of the cast of One Piece are notorious pirates after all, and they see their bounties rising as a point of pride. However, there are quite a lot of characters in One Piece who are already rich and wealthy. Today we are going to be taking a look at some of the richest characters in One Piece. Whether they earned their wealth through legitimate means, or something else, they are wealthy and certainly worth keeping an eye on.
7. Gild Tesoro
This man is one of the richest people in the world. He owned the largest entertainment ship in the world, was untouchable by even the World Government, and even had 20% of the world’s currency in his vault. Plus, with his Devil Fruit power giving him the ability to control gold, he had both money and power.
He had it all until he tried to double-cross the Straw Hats. They managed to steal his ship out from under him. Plus his empire was destroyed when the Marines arrested him. Despite the canonicity of this film being up in the air, Gild Tersosoro was still one of the wealthiest characters in One Piece by a grand margin.
6. Shogun Kurozumi Orochi
This samurai owned his own country in Wano Country. After regaining his throne, he developed a massive sense of greed. He would lie, cheat, and steal in order to survive, and those traits carried on when he became ruler. With his lands untouchable and untaxable by the World Government, he is likely wealthy.
He had the arrogance, greed, and the power of a ruler on his side. Additionally, he had an alliance with Kaido as well. However, when the Straw Hats arrived in Wano Country and Kaido put plans of his own into motion, all his wealth couldn’t save him from death.
5. Prince Loki
While this giant might have been looking for love, he would very quickly learn that the money he had as the Prince of the Elbaf giants wouldn’t be enough to get the woman of his desires. He was very well respected by the Giants. To the point that if the marriage had gone through the giants would have ceased in their hatred for Charlotte Linlin (Big Mom.)
However, the 23rd daughter of Big Mom refused the wedding and fled. Prince Loki rejected Linlin’s attempt to use Lola’s twin sister as a substitute bride. However, the money he owns as the Prince of Elbalf should be more than enough. After all, Elbaf is said to be the strongest country in the world.
4. Vinsmoke Judge
Vinsmoke Judge doesn’t throw a lot of money around or openly flaunt his wealth. Still, for everything that he and his family can do, they surely have some real money. The Vinsmoke family is filled with genetically modified warriors. They also have access to some of the best technology in the world.
With cloning facilities and top-notch training facilities all over the portable kingdom, it is easy to assume that the Germa Kingdom is pretty wealthy. Even just looking at the castle can show that the Vinsmoke family has a taste for the finer things in life. Things that only a lot of money can buy!
3. The World Nobles/Celestial Dragons
Pretty much anyone who is or was a World Noble is going to be extremely rich. These people run the entire One Piece world, and they are extremely wealthy. This is due to the “Heavenly Tribute” which is something every nation affiliated with the World Goverment needs to pay. The amount of money is dependent on the size of the population. Every country must pay the tribute regardless of cost.
But the World Nobles certainly have a lot of money, as do all those affiliated with them. As we get closer and closer to seeing them in the Final Saga, we might get a chance to see some of those riches firsthand.
2. Donquixote Doflamingo
He was a member of the World Nobles and later blackmailed them to become one of the Seven Warlords of The Sea. Doflamingo is pretty wealthy all on his own. He has the World Nobles in his pocket due to his blackmail. He is also the most resourceful and influential broker in the world.
Doflamingo has quite a lot of power in the New World and makes a lot of money from his underworld dealings. From slavery to drug production, to buying and selling weapons of mass destruction. He was also the King of Dressrosa for a while, so his wealth likely only increased.
1. Gol D Roger
Part of the reason why the entire series started in the first place was because Gol D Roger allowed himself to be captured. But as one of the most powerful people in the world, and the true Pirate King, he certainly had a lot of treasure. Not just the One Piece, but also other treasures as well.
The horde of treasure that Gol D Roger had is something that every single pirate is looking for. Who knows who will find it first, but what will be more interesting is what they choose to do with it!
Money Makes The World Go Around
It seems like everything in One Piece revolves around money. People are hunting and acquiring bounties, robbing and raiding to get more money, and of course hunting for treasure. With everyone trying their hardest to get as much money as possible, it can be very easy to forget that certain people are rich.
There are plenty of wealthy enemies and allies that the Straw Hats are going to need to deal with if they want to continue in their quest. They might need to start thinking a bit smarter whenever it comes to money. So they can stay alive and keep up with those around them!
