Today, we’re going to try and figure out What Are The Minks in One Piece, as well as remember some that tend to stand out.

One can’t help but wonder how much of an untold contribution Zou has on Mink traits.

As an example, one of the prominent mink characters in the series is Pedro, a jaguar mink, who was a member of the Straw Hat Pirates’ Grand Fleet.
From birth, all minks inherently possess prowess as formidable and skilled fighters, a trait that even newborns instinctively utilize for self-defense. Remarkably, this inherent strength remains with them as they age, allowing them to maintain their combat prowess throughout their lives. Plus, every mink exhibits remarkable physical prowess that surpasses that of regular humans. Certain minks showcase exceptional strength and robustness. They’re adept at effortlessly executing incredible leaps across vast distances, while others have stunning agility and speed. Furthermore, they possess noteworthy stealth aptitude, as demonstrated when they silently encircled Monkey D. Luffy – adept in Kenbunshoku Haki – without his awareness.
Where Does the Word “Mink” Come From?
Rather than embodying the traits of marine life, minks showcase the qualities of terrestrial mammals adorned with fur. Also, this luxurious fur, referred to as their “mink,” blankets a significant portion of their physique. They respect the coat as a source of pride and happiness. So, as far as we know, that’s where the name really took flight. In addition to this fact, it would probably be more helpful to meet some of One Piece’s furry friends.
Pedro
Briefly addressed, Pedro is a crowd favorite. A Jaguar Mink hailing from the mystical Zou Island, Pedro brought a unique blend of wisdom, courage, and mystery to the story. During the Straw Hat Pirates’ encounter with the Big Mom Pirates, Pedro played a crucial role in their escape from Totto Land. His sacrificial act demonstrated his unyielding commitment to protecting his friends and ensuring the safety of the Straw Hat crew. Using his explosive Devil Fruit ability, he created an opening for his companions to escape, ultimately costing him his life.
He truly was a multifaceted character whose intriguing past, strategic prowess, and selfless sacrifice left an indelible mark on the One Piece narrative.
Pedro’s character was further enriched by his close bond with fellow mink, Carrot. As a mentor and confidant, he guided Carrot in honing her combat skills and instilled in her a sense of responsibility and purpose.
Carrot
Carrot is a vibrant and spirited character in the One Piece series. Also, with her distinctive appearance, Carrot possesses the traits of both a humanoid and a rabbit. This includes long ears and a fluffy tail. Her energy and enthusiasm are infectious, making her a memorable addition to the Straw Hat Pirates’ adventures. Carrot’s personality is characterized by her curiosity and fearlessness. In additon, Inuarashi has a complex history intertwined with the larger narrative, having fought alongside the legendary Pirate Gol D. Roger in the past. In the events of the Whole Cake Island arc, Inuarashi joins forces with the Straw Hat Pirates, showcasing his combat prowess, agility, and mastery of his Sulong form—a transformative state that grants him heightened abilities under the influence of the full moon.
Nekomamushi
Nekomamushi, also known as “Cat Viper,” is also one of the rulers of the Mokomo Dukedom on the island of Zou. He is a large, muscular cat with distinctive feline features, including sharp claws and pointed ears. Also, he possesses incredible agility, strength, and combat skills. Earlier, we mentioned ho this is a key trait for some Minks. Nekomamushi has a jovial and eccentric personality, often speaking in a mixture of Japanese and cat-like sounds. He is fiercely loyal to his people and has a close bond with his fellow ruler, Inuarashi. Lastly, Nekomamushi is a prominent figure during the Zou and Wano arcs, playing a vital role in the Straw Hat Pirates’ adventures and contributing to the overarching narrative of One Piece.
Electro
Electro allows the user to generate and manipulate electrical energy, essentially granting them control over lightning. This distinctive ability is closely tied to the minks’ connection with the moon. The “Sulong” transformation inhances this. During a full moon, minks can access the Sulong form. In tandem, this enhances their physical attributes and activates their formidable attacks.
With flexibility, Electro can be employed in both offensive and defensive manners. Plus, users can release electric discharges to attack opponents directly, inflicting powerful and stunning strikes.
