Dr. Vegapunk is the world’s most renowned scientist. He discovered many things and invented countless weapons that can bring destruction to this world. It’s said that his achievements are 500 years ahead of time and everyone praises him as the most intellectual being in One Piece. Vegapunk’s existence is introduced in episode 610, however, he doesn’t make an appearance in the show until chapter 1066.
Pacifista
Excluding his Seatone inventions, Pacifista is the only weapon that has made an appearance in the anime. Pacifista was first introduced on Sabaody Island, pre-timeskip. The reason why the straw hat crew had to separate was due to this invention. Vegapunk investigated Bartholomew Kuma’s body to create the Pacifista. Pacifista has built-in light powers. Vegapunk wanted to adapt devil fruit powers on the Pacifista. He used Borsalino, also known as Admiral Kizaru.

Pacifista makes another appearance during the Marineford arc. Even the Whitebeard pirates feared the cyborgs and we’re talking about the strongest pirates at the time. They possess Kuma’s physical strength and are composed of strong materials. His body is so hard that when Sanji first kicked PX-0, any harder would’ve completely broken his legs. As well as this, they can identify wanted pirates, meaning disguises are futile against these weapons.
Seraphim
The World Government realized that the Seven Warlords of the Sea were getting too much to handle. This is seen on numerous occasions during the show (e.g. Crocodile and Doflamingo). The sole purpose of the Seraphims is to replace the current Warlords and revoke their status, putting them back into their prior status. Vegapunk created the Seraphim by cloning the former Seven Warlords and mixing them with King’s Lunarian Lineage Factor. By inducing something known as Green Blood, this allows the Seraphims to replicate the cloned Warlord’s Devil fruit power. However, this means that their weakness is the same as any other devil fruit user, the ocean.
Seraphim’s strengths make people believe that they’re the strongest form of humanity. Their strengths are so fearful, that it even made Blackbeard struggle to counter them.
Mother Flame
Although the inventor of this substance is Vegapunk, this is used by Imu and the Five Elders. This substance is really dangerous, as it has the power to destroy an island with ease. The damage that it can cause is on par with Rumble-Rumble fruit (Whitebeard’s old devil fruit and currently Blackbeard’s devil fruit). Mother Flame is produced by a power plant located on Egghead. It was used in the Lulusia Kingdom and a gigantic hole in the sea was created. This hole never filled up and caused a global earthquake, which resulted in the sea levels rising. This tragedy resulted in Ivankov speculating that it could be one of the Ancient Weapons.
Bubble Gun
As the name suggests, this gun is used to shoot bubbles. The cool thing about this gun is that these bubbles are made of sea energy. This means that this gun can weaken devil fruit users. The gun comes in two different variants, a handgun and a rifle. The rifle is possessed by Lilith (One of the six satellites).
Beam Saber
Surely you must’ve watched Star Wars. Well, this weapon demonstrates the same type of power. This device forms a light in the shape of a blade and can slice through, just like a Katana. If you have ever left your light on in your room and left the door open, you might’ve witnessed a moth on your lightbulb. This saber demonstrates a similar effect. Vegapunk described this as a defect, as it attracts insects due to the bright light.

How can you travel on Egghead? If you use this spherical vehicle, transportation within Egghead will be so much easier. Especially how it can traverse much of the territory without falling. This one feels like it was inspired by childhood video games, but we’ll let fans be the judge of that.
Sea Beast Weapons
The Sea Beast Weapons are the guardian angel of Egghead. Vegapunk created a cyborg version of Sea Beasts to guard the water surrounding Egghead. They have enough strength to take out ships that try to trespass Egghead. Certain areas of the Sea Beasts are flesh, therefore their weakness is penetration. The laser from Pacifista dealt enough damage to destroy all the Sea Beast Weapons.
Devil Fruit Research
During the Punk Hazard arc, Momonosuke eats an artificial devil fruit developed by Vegapunk. His ideal result was to replicate the Fish-Fish fruit Kaido has, but he labels it a failure. One of the greatest things about this invention is that Momonosuke experiences no side effects. Caesar Clown tries to copy Vegapunk by creating Smile. However, the side effects are clear when you look at the Beast pirates. Although it is possible to gain superhuman abilities, their ability looks abnormal in comparison to normal users. The side effect of eating this fruit is that you will be smiling for eternity.
An Assessment of Invention
To conclude, Vegapunk invented weapons that are worthy of calling him a genius. It is obvious that this man was born in the wrong generation and his knowledge poses a threat to the World Government. If he hadn’t existed, then the Marine force would’ve been weaker. This means that the Seven Warlords would still be put in place, abusing their authority. However, this is not to say some of the inventions are good. The Mother Flame is an example of this. The power to destroy an island within seconds should be prohibited.
