Time to get ready to rumble with One Piece’s Rumble-Rumble Fruit! This might be the most powerful Devil Fruit in the Logia Class, with an incredible range of power. Able to turn the user into lightning, this is even more dangerous when coupled with the user’s Haki abilities. It’s definitely an interesting Fruit with the various powers it grants, and the Rumble-Rumble Fruit has some surprising hidden tricks.

What is the Rumble-Rumble Fruit?
The Rumble-Rumble Fruit is a Logia-type Devil Fruit that turns the user into an embodiment of lightning. This means they’re electrified at all times, and fast as hell to boot. It’s an incredibly overpowered Fruit thanks to how much it allows the user to distort their body, as well as the immense speed it grants. The fights with Enel show just how quickly he can move in his lightning form. At this rate in the series, he could probably take Katakuri in a one-on-one and keep the pace.
While the Rumble-Rumble Fruit gives the user the usual Logia benefits like a metaphysical form and generation, it’s so much more. With some training, the user can summon huge thunderbolts from a clear sky, and even attack from a damn long range. Enel would send lightning bolts down from across Upper Yard to Skypiea, so Yasopp might not be the top sniper in the world after all. In addition, the user can use conductive materials as more effective weapons, infusing them with electricity at will.
Enel
The Real Slim Shady of the One Piece world, Enel is also one of the first “undefeatable” enemies the Straw Hats face. He’s the fascist dictator of Skypiea, using the massive city of gold from Jaya that’s on the Sky Island for his own plans. Enel originally came from another Sky Island in the Grand Line, along with his other supporters. All things considered, he’s knowledgeable about life below ground to the same extent as other Skypieans.
The Rumble-Rumble Fruit is what gives Enel his massive power, especially when combined with his Mantra abilities. Enel plans on using the Rumble-Rumble Fruit to build a massive ship of gold, flying himself to the moon. Yeah, it sounds ridiculous, but it’s par for the course in the world of One Piece.
Fast As Lightning
When it comes to speed, the Rumble-Rumble Fruit might only be the second place of Logia Types. Right behind the Glint-Glint Fruit since it’s hard to get faster than light as a living person. Still, Enel is able to nearly instantaneously move from place to place, literally like a flash of lightning from the sky. It makes traveling incredibly easy, and allows Enel to exert his dominance all over Skypiea at all times.
This is the primary ability of the Rumble-Rumble Fruit that makes it an absolute pain in the ass to fight. It’s already hard to fight a fast enemy, but when they can flash around like lightning, it’s near impossible. Even if the user isn’t using the lightning for any shock value and hitting with physical blows, the intense speed ensures much more pain than necessary.
Haki Enhancement
One of the greatest utilizations of the incredible speed the Rumble-Rumble Fruit grants is a combination with Observation Haki. The ability to see across great distances by sensing the life force of others combines with the quickness of the Rumble-Rumble Fruit to attack at long distances. With this, Enel is able to keep an all-encompassing hold on Skypiea from one central point.
It’s been over two years in the story since the appearance of the Rumble-Rumble Fruit, and Enel has probably improved his abilities. If there’s any way to combine the Fruit with Armament Haki or (god forbid) Conqueror Haki, this one single Devil Fruit is possibly the most powerful in the entire series. The various attacks of El Thor, or his Three Million Volt Shocks could easily bring out an Emperor if he trains it correctly.
Strengths
- Incredible level of power in even the weakest attack.
- Amazing long and short-distance fighting abilities.
- Works in combination with Haki better than other Devil Fruits.
- Allows flight and very quick travel capabilities.
Weaknesses
- Rubber, and assumably other unconducive materials.
Where is the Rumble-Rumble Fruit Now?
We haven’t had much of an update on Enel since the post-Skypiea cover story he goes through. He makes it up to the moon, discovering a race of moon-men and a robot army that he’s able to bring back through the Rumble-Rumble Fruit. There’s a lot to unpack in that sentence, even when it comes to the ridiculous world of One Piece. It’s heavily implied that there was once a species of people on the moon that ended up coming down and becoming the Skypieans of today.
The Rumble-Rumble Fruit is right there with him, assuming that he’s still alive. At this point though Enel could come back with an entire moon army thanks to his discoveries. Lots of potential still exists out there for this Devil Fruit whenever the wannabe ruler decides to come back to earth. The Rumble-Rumble Fruit might be a tad too overpowered though, and may not need to come back to upset the balance of the final battles.
