Who are the Yonko’s? They are the strongest and the most notorious pirates according to the World Government. They see them as a major threat and they wish for nothing but their corruption. Through time, the Yonko’s have been changing. A change in Yonko means a change in era. Before the Marineford arc, the Yonkos (Four Emperors) were Whitebeard, Kaido, Big Mom and Shanks. Whitebeard’s death led to a new era and he was replaced by Blackbeard, his previous crew that betrayed him.
This meant that Kaido and Big Mom now became the oldest Yonkos, as they have been reigning the Grand line for a long time. They have been pirates since the age of the Rock’s pirates. However, times have changed. In the recent episode, Kaido and Big Mom were dragged out of their position, leaving two empty seats. The new and current Yonkos are Luffy, Buggy, Blackbeard and Shanks. What does it take to defeat a Yonko? Let us look back at the times when the Yonkos were defeated and find out Who Is Stronger Than The Yonko in One Piece.
Whitebeard
Starting off with Whitebeard. There were multiple factors that played to cause Whitebeard’s death. Not only did he fight against the whole of the Marine army, but he was also really old and Blackbeard brought his crew and ambushed him
Whitebeard was active in the same era as Roger, and he always had an IV connected to him to keep him alive. Even though he was in a critical condition, he was still known as the world’s deadliest and strongest man.
Big Mom
During the Wano arc, Big Mom was defeated by Trafalgar Law and Captain Kid. Everytime she somewhat became unconscious, she would stand back up again. Big Mom is so strong that even after both Kid and Law used their Awakened Devil fruit abilities, she was still fighting back.
After multiple attempts, Law and Kid both unleash their strongest attacks on Big Mom. It was their last bit of energy. Due to the nature of Law’s awakened ability, a massive crack formed to the core of the planet. Big Mom fell in this crack, never to be seen again.
Kaido
It is not fair to say that Luffy dealt with Kaido by himself, however he dealt the majority of the damage. At the start of the fight, all the Worst Generations were on the rooftop facing both Yonkos. All of them unleashed powerful attacks, however it was never going to end, if the two Yonkos were together. This is when they decided to split who is taking on who.
When Luffy was facing Kaido by himself, he became unconscious numerous times. A CP0 agent interfered with their fight, resulting in Luffy’s knock out. However, Luffy became victorious once he had unleashed his awakened ability, known as Gear Fifth.
Marine Admirals
The current marine admirals are Fujitora, Kizaru and Ryokugyu. Fujitora and Ryokugyu replaced Aokiji and Akainu after their fight at Punk Hazard. In the past, Red-haired Shanks has encountered multiple Admirals. He makes direct contact with Akainu, Kizaru and Ryokugyu.
Akainu, Kizaru and Ryokugyu all made direct contact with Shanks, leading them to fight. They all received little to no damage, but they still backed off, because they knew the fight would drag on. Yonko’s have the same amount of power as the Marine Admirals. Whether they can defeat them is a different question, however they would be able to put up a good fight. A fight that just might last days.
Gorosei
Gorosei, also known as the Five Elders, are the leaders of the World Government. A mysterious character known as Imu is the shadow leader whom they worship. They are the strongest force in the World Government and they have nearly all the control in the world, for example the media. Their position in the World Government makes them Yonko-class worthy.
Garp and Sengoku
If the last two did not satisfy you, then these two definitely will. Both Garp and Sengoku have been in the world of One Piece for a long time. As long as Roger started his piracy. Roger had fought to death with Garp so many times. They were so close that they even formed a temporary alliance to defeat Rocks. As well as this, these two are the direct individuals who sent Golden Lion, Shiki to Impel Down. Shiki at the time was known as one of the most powerful characters. He even seeked alliance with Roger, so that they could be unstoppable.
Mihawk
At the start of the anime, around when Luffy got his first bounty, he went to see Shanks. Shanks asked whether he wanted to finish off the fight between Mihawk. He was not interested in fighting with a man with one arm. This dialogue makes it seem as if Mihawk is on par with Shank’s strength. As well as this, a man with a title of “The Strongest Swordsman” must be close to Yonko level, if not a greater threat.
Monkey D Dragon
Dragon, the leader of the Revolutionary Army. His purpose of life is to break the shackles the World Government has put in place on the world. For this, he is going to need a lot of power, enough to defeat Gorosei himself. As the father of Luffy, he is bound to be stronger than him and his plot armor makes him stronger than the Yonkos.
